For those people that don't wish to be governed by the golf course, there is plenty to do in the local area.
There are blue flag beaches at Vera Playa and Mojacar Playa which are suitable for children of all ages. Windsurfing, water-skiing and diving are all available. Chiringuitos (beach cafe/bars) can be found dotted along the beach and behind the newly-built cycle paths and walkways.
There is a large water park with slides and pools just 5 minutes drive from the apartment.

Close by is the historic Moorish town of Mojacar which is only a 10 minute drive away. Just before you reach Mojacar is the fishing town of Garrucha, where there are more great seafood restaurants than you can shake a stick at! Also for the more energetic there is a small Go Kart circuit.
At the eastern end of Vera Playa is a naturist resort and beach, open to the public.
